NEW TERMINOLOGY

SETS <TẬP HỢP>:

Two equal sets: when they have the same elements
Empty set: tập rỗng
Singleton set: ${∅}$
Subset: tập con: when every element of $A$ is also an element of $B$ : $A ⊆ B$
Proper subset: $A$ khác $B$ , $A ⊂ B$
Finite set: tập hữu hạn
Cardinality: number of elements of set $S$ , kí hiệu: $|S|$
Power set: a set of all subsets of the set $S$ , denoted by $P(S)$ => if a set has $n$ elements, then its power set has $2^n$ elements.
Ordered n-tuple: ordered collection of set
Cartesian product: denoted by $AxB$ , set of ordered pairs $(a,b)$
Difference: hiệu: trừ đi những phần tử giao với tập hợp khác
Complement: phần bù
Set identity: identity (đồng nhất), domination (nuốt), idempotent (lũy đẳng), complementation (luật bù, 2 lần bù về lại ban đầu

Domain: miền xác định
Codomain: miền giá trị
Image: ảnh
Pre-image: tạo ảnh
Range: ảnh của tất cả các phần tử của tập xác định A
maps: ánh xạ
One-to-one, injective: đơn ánh, tức là nếu $f(a) = f(b)$ thì $a = b$
Onto, surjective: toàn ánh, với mọi giá trị $f(x)$ thì tồn tại $x$ để thỏa
One-to-one and onto: bijection: song ánh: mọi giá trị $a$ đều dẫn tới giá trị $b$ và mọi giá trị $b$ đều được tạo thành từ 1 giá trị $a$
Function composition: hàm hợp
Floor function: hàm sàn, làm tròn xuống
Ceiling function: hàm trần, làm tròn lên
